Dress up your Walls with a Bit of Wainscoting

From drab to chic, that’s the history of wainscoting and your walls. Wainscoting used to cover the lower part of walls in 16th century England to prevent dampness in the home. Now the technique is used to add elegance or pop to just about any room.

The fortunate part about wainscoting is that it is an easy addition. You can use about any type of material from medium-density fiberboards to wood, plastic or plywood—some stores even sell rolls of faux wood wainscoting! All you have to do is roll it out on your wall!
